When playing videogames, I often come across unique mechanics that connect perfectly to the narrative. In the early days of my masters studies, I took time to explore mechanics in depth and adapted several titles into a tabletop format to playtest with my gaming team. Dead Rising had two interesting elements that I wanted to explore, the main mission clock, and the psychopaths.

I decided to use the setting for Dead Rising 2, because if it’s good enough for Capcom to use twice, it’s good enough for me. Fortune City is an engaging and fun playground for a zombie game, and I would be adapting the narrative to allow for several players to make it a unique experience.
