The Sound of Silence.

I was asked to write a bottle episode for a long running Star Trek game, with a particular focus on sci fi horror as it was due to be run on Halloween. Although I was aware of Star Trek and had even watched it with my Dad when I was younger, this was a world I was not well versed in, and the prospect of researching the back catalogue of content was… daunting to say the least. I decided to use the existing game content as a jumping off point and research specific things when I needed further information.

Once I had decided on the narrative focus of the episode, I completed further research into the horror elements and ended up with an intriguing mystery for the crew to investigate. The mechanics used for this game used the fate dice system, which is a more cinematic than mathematic systems and worked well for this material.
